Eight states report 123 new COVID-19 cases

The Federal Capital Territory and seven other states have recorded 123 new cases of COVID-19, according to the figures released on Sunday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

NCDC disclosed this on their official website on Sunday.

According to NCDC, the 123 new cases were recorded from Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Ogun, the FCT and three other states.

Lagos recorded the highest numbers for new infections with 70 new cases, Akwa Ibom -18, Ogun -10, Oyo -8, Rivers -8, Ekiti – 4, FCT – 4 while Bayelsa reported a single case.

The health agency said that the 123 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 169, 329.

So far, 164,672 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With no death recorded, the death toll from the virus remains 2,126, NCDC said.

It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
