The Lagos State Government has said youths with employability and job interview skills will stand better chances of being employed.

The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs Yetunde Arobieke, said this on Tuesday at a training programme in Agidingbi, Ikeja.

She said the training meant to develop employability and job interview skills in youths was organised by the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment in collaboration with Jobberman Nigeria.

She said, “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, remains unrelenting in the quest to enhance leadership and employability skills of our youth, as well as connect them to professionals that will help shorten the learning curve and assist in accessing the sectors and disciplined expertise.

“The programme is crucial as it will prepare our youth in identifying recruiters’ requirements in relation to skills, attributes and likely questions posed at interviews and how to approach answering different types of interview questions.”

The Senior Youth Engagement and Learning Associate, Jobberman, Mr Daniel Emenahor, said, “Every job seeker should possess communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence and behavioural skills.

“This training will provide youths with good curriculum vitae and cover letter writing, interview preparation, job search strategies and salary negotiation tips.”
