Lagos, FCT, four others report 203 new COVID-19 infections, one death

Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory and four other states recorded 203 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, according to the figures released on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Monday. 

The health agency also reported one additional COVID-19 related death.

According to NCDC, the 203 new cases were recorded from Lagos, FCT, and four other states.

Lagos recorded the highest numbers for new infections with 186 new infections, Edo – 4, Oyo – 4, Rivers – 4, FCT – 3, while Kwara also reported 2 new cases.

The health agency said that the 203 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 169, 532.

164,699 COVID-19 patients have also recovered and been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With a single death reported, the death toll from the virus is now 2,127, NCDC said.

It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
