Lagos, five others report 132 new COVID-19 cases

Lagos, four other states and the Federal Capital Territory have recorded 132 new cases of COVID-19, according to the figures released on Saturday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Saturday.

According to the NCDC, the 132 new cases were recorded from Lagos, Rivers, Gombe, Katsina, Nasarawa as well as the FCT.

Lagos recorded the highest numbers for new infections with 109 cases, Rivers – 16, Gombe – 3, Katsina – 2, while the FCT and Nasarawa reported a single case each

The health agency said that the 132 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 169, 206.

So far, 164,666 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With no death recorded, the death toll from the virus remains 2,126, NCDC said.

It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
